Our adventure started in 2004 when Lynda Salvo, the founder of Explorers Early Learning, faced the challenge of finding a nurturing and high quality childcare environment for her firstborn child. Motivated by the lack of quality options, Lynda decided to start her own childcare centre.
By December 2004, the first site was found in St Kilda and over the next two years, she immersed herself in learning about Early Childhood Care and Education, dedicating her time to building the foundation of Tree House Child Care, the original brand. During this period, Lynda also grew her own family with the birth of her second child in 2006.
In December 2006, Tree House Child Care St Kilda opened its doors and quickly earned a reputation for excellence. Balancing the demands of a new business with the needs of her growing family was challenging yet extremely rewarding.
From 2008 to 2013, the business continued to flourish with the opening of additional centres, expanding to a total of five centres by 2013. During this time, Lynda also welcomed her third child. All three of Lynda’s children attended the St Kilda centre until they went to school, reflecting her trust in the care and education provided, particularly the Kindergarten Program.
In 2013, Lynda decided to take a small break to spend time with her family and sold the Tree House Early Learning brand. However, very soon after, she realised how much she missed making a difference in this area, which led to the creation of the new brand, Explorers Early Learning.
Fast forward to 2024, Explorers Early Learning celebrated the opening of its twentieth centre in Werribee. In an industry dominated by large corporate childcare chains, we take pride in being a family owned business where quality care and education are our primary focus.
As we continue to grow, our commitment to in every centre remains steadfast. We look forward to expanding our Explorers family and welcoming more children and families into our community. Join us on this exciting learning for life journey as we shape the minds and hearts of the future together.
